Just a few hours ago, Shell announced that it is giving up on its plans to drill for oil in the Alaskan Arctic in 2013. That means no drilIing in the pristine waters of the Chukchi and Beaufort seas this year. It's amazing news. Not just for the Arctic, but for the environment. And your support made it possible. I'm so inspired right now. The fight isn't over though. We'll be working in the days, weeks and months ahead to make sure that the good news doesn't stop here by urging President Obama to make the Arctic off limits to industrial exploitation, forever. But for the moment it's all about enjoying what we've accomplished together. Thank you so much for all the work you have done to protect the Arctic.
