Remembrance

May 5th is Liberation Day in The Netherlands. Sixty-five years ago on May 5th, the Nazis surrendered to the Canadians in Belgium, ending five years of occupation. There is news coverage of commemorative events at the following CBC News site:

Forty years ago, four demonstrators were killed by the National Guard in Ohio. There is a collection at Kent State University documenting the May 4, 1970 shootings:
