Day 1 - Appreciation

Welcome to Day 1 of International Nature Journaling Week 2022! Today we are focusing on the things close to home that bring us joy. We will look for beauty and wonder in the simple things, the things we come across every day, and see if we can notice something new and surprising about our own nearby nature.

Visit the Program page of the website for more resources and links about Appreciation.
Day 1 - Appreciation

Appreciation Party

We started the day with a wonderful Appreciation Party on Zoom where we shared the things that have been bringing us joy in our nearby nature!

There will be a second Appreciation Party today at 11 AM London time (8 PM AEST) which you are invited to attend.
Bring along your nature journal and a story about something that is bringing you joy in nature recently.

*** Recordings of both events will go up on the website shortly

Appreciation Party 2:
1st June, 11 AM - 12:30 PM London time
1st June, 8 PM - 9:30 PM AEST

Let's Sketch a Cactus - with Tim Pond

We are excited that artist Tim Pond is joining us again for International Nature Journaling Week. Tim has shared a video on is process of drawing a cactus. Cacti are plants that can be found at your local botanic gardens, or maybe even in your home as a house plant.

Nature journaling in Senegal

We would like to take a moment to share appreciation for the donations that were made last year for International Nature Jouranling Week. The money that was left over after expenses was donated to help to buy nature journaling kits to take to Senegal for this wonderful project. Rafa Benjumea shared the video they made during the workshops in Senegal:

I hope you have a wonderful day and spend time appreciating the simple things in nature around you. Visit the Appreciation page for more resources and ideas, and come along to the second Appreciation Party if it suits your timezone. Don't forget to use the hashtag #naturejournalingweek if you share your pages on social media. We would love to see what you create today!
